If you love working with children, have a passion for art, and want to give back to the community, Go van Gogh (r) is the volunteer program for you! Go van Gogh school outreach volunteers lead experiences in Dallas elementary classrooms that encourage students to look closely at works of art in the Museum’s collection and express their creativity with art-making activities.

School year programs are 60 to 90 minutes in length and consist of an interactive presentation featuring images from the Museum's collection followed by a hands-on art activity. Programs are scheduled Wednesday-Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at schools across Dallas. Volunteers are asked to teach two programs per month from late September to mid-May. Volunteers may either carpool with staff in the Go van Gogh minivan or meet at the program site.

Bilingual language skills are a plus, but are not required to participate. Previous experience teaching or working with children ages 6 to 12 strongly recommended.

Interested volunteers must attend bimonthly training sessions held on Tuesday mornings at the DMA from late August to mid-October. All Go van Gogh volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and must undergo a two-part screening process including free DISD volunteer registration and a $17 self-paid background check through Verified Volunteers.
