The American Kidney Fund is looking for volunteers with any medical background to assist at the Black Women's Expo in Atlanta, GA by performing a blood pressure readings and explaining the results to the participant. This event is part of a national effort to increase awareness of kidney disease and its two leading risk factors (diabetes and high blood pressure), while encouraging individuals to get and stay healthy. Nursing students, pharmacy students, and pre-med students welcome!
We are looking for 8 volunteers for each of the following days:
-Friday, August 10th, 10am to 7pm (8 slots available)
-Tuesday, June 19th, 10am to 7pm (8 slots available)
-Wednesday, June 20th, 11am to 6pm (8 slots available)
*You may choose one or more shifts listed above*
*Morning and afternoon shifts possible upon request*
Attire: All volunteers are to wear clothing that is comfortable and presentable. They may wear scrubs or their organizations t-shirt
Volunteer Duties: To perform blood pressure and/or glucose reading and explain the results to the participant

The American Kidney Fund leads the nation in providing charitable assistance to dialysis patients who need help with the costs associated with treating kidney failure. The American Kidney Fund offers free kidney health screenings in communities nationwide, as well as extensive online health education materials and courses and a toll-free health information HelpLine (866.300.2900).
