Job Title: Food Distribution at Ober Park
Objective: To serve foods to the children utilizing the Picnics in the Park program
Location: Ober Park at Vashon Library 17130 Vashon Hwy SW
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Dress appropriately; no open-toed shoes and hair pulled back
- If driving, park in the Ober Park gravel parking lot.
- Arrive at 11:45am and meet street side in front of the library to meet the van
- Assist with unloading the van and setting up distribution
- Wear gloves and follow all food safety guidelines as directed
- Take direction from program manager on what food items to serve
- Be friendly, courteous and kind to all participants, volunteers, and staff!
- Assist with breaking down distribution and loading everything back into the van
Reports To: Picnics in the Park Program Coordinator, Volunteer Manager, Executive Director
Required Skills/Traits:
- Food Worker Card strongly encouraged and preferred
Time Commitment:
- 2-3 hrs. Per shift, as often as the volunteer would like to commit.
- Shifts are Monday-Friday 11:45am-1:45pm
Duration of Position: Seasonal June 25-August 31
Training:
VMCFB General Orientation and Picnics in the Park (combined in 1 class for new volunteers). Orientation required

The Vashon Maury Community Food Bank is located on beautiful Vashon Island. With a population of just over 11,000 individuals, the fact that the Food Bank serves 1 in 9 people in our community is staggering. We do it thanks to the growing support from volunteers and donors. We welcome volunteers of all abilities and ages, there is a way for everyone to give.
