ORGANIZATION: Wild Women Prevail

  • 3 people are interested

We are a small non profit organization that empowers at risk girls. We are looking for a dedicated individual that would love to share their passion for gardening. We would like to grow healthy vegetables and bee friendly plants. Eventually we would like to teach the girls healthy eating habits by cooking some of the vegetables they grow!

Mission Statement

Wild Women Prevail is a non-profit where people experience healing and transformational life change with animals and a loving community. We believe that anyone who is lost can be placed on the trails to success again and that animals can reach the heart of a person in a way that others in their lives often cannot.

Description

We give at-risk youth the opportunity to create a bond with rescued and rehabilitated goats and horses which serves as a form therapeutic intervention through a comprehensive program. Our youth learn natural horsemanship, animal training, animal husbandry, participate in creative writing, art Therapy, tutoring, yoga and meditation and farm to table cooking classes. Each child is assigned a horse that is carefully selected by our staff to ensure the strongest bond. This bond will help guide both partners down their healing journey. We provide the course for youth in high risk situations free of charge. Our hope for our youth is to give them the skills they need to overcome whatever their current obstacles are and go into the world with tools to help them succeed. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers.
