- Assist Polk County government’s Supplier Diversity office with creating a current list of Polk businesses.
- Make phone calls to local businesses. Using a script that has been prepared for you, collect businesses’ responses to the 10- question census script.
- Questions help confirm who the business owner is, update owner’s contact info and type of business.
- The Business Project Assistant will also use the internet to help connect with businesses and will be responsible for keying collected data into an Excel Spreadsheet.
This is a great way to become familiar with businesses in Polk and assist the Supplier Diversity office ( a staff of one) in updating needed information. Assignment is open to volunteers ages 14 - Adults. Students can earn Volunteer house for academic credit. Business Majors or clerical job seekers, this volunteer opportunity could be good for your resume! Retirees, these flexible weekday hours, give you an opportunity to apply your skills/workplace knowledge and have fun learning about all of the businesses to be found in Polk!
