At Home of the Innocents, we care for many children and families in need. One areas is our Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center where our medically complex children reside. The children in this unit have many medical issues which requires our staff to get pretty creative when caring for some of the most basic needs.
Currently, we are looking to have towels converted into towel ponchos. The towel poncho is used during swim therapy and the shape of the poncho allows for an easier more practical usage for our residents as opposed to a regular towel.
This involves some basic sewing on a sewing machine (hemming edges after they are cut).
If you have the equipment and the skills and would like to help us out, we would love to hear from you!
Volunteer project to be done off site.
Volunteer responsible for picking up towels at Home of the Innocents and dropping off finished product. Both pick up and drop off can be done at the volunteer's discretion.
