Veterans on Hospice need care! On the battlefield, military say, "leave no man/woman behind". This is also true when Veterans are in their last season of life. Our Veteran patients really need a compassionate listener and military comrade. Our Veteran to Veteran Volunteer program unites the Vet patient with a man or woman who can provide the essential camaraderie required for life review and war time reminiscing and healing. "As a Hospice Chaplain, I often seek to engage our Veterans in life review but they just won't open up to nonmilitary. The minute someone with a military background walks in, the can of worms opens up and the shared dialogue is healing".

The Veteran volunteer will provide patient visits for camaraderie, companionship and conversation.

In addition, we always provide a bedside Veteran honoring service for our patients. We would ask for your presence during those amazing moments.

Skills needed:
Military experience, compassion and a heart to serve...that's it. We provide all education and equip you to be successful in your volunteer position!
