The Outreach volunteer will support HANA Center's mission by communicating our programs and initiatives to help build awareness and to increase our base. The volunteer will create materials (flyers, newsletters, etc), meet with program managers to understand their programs, and learn all areas of work within the HANA Center in order to best communicate our mission, and perform outreach duties.

  • Develop public education and information materials, presentations and displays - including contributing to the HANA Center's newsletters, media/new media outreach and website content.
  • Promote public education and program information materials via social media, community events, and physical postings in community centers, churches, cultural centers, public spaces, etc.
  • Assist in the continued development of scope of outreach for all of HANA Center's programs.
  • Organize outreach materials and ensure that all staff are updating their flyers and the outreach room materials are prepared for the next event.
Required skills:

  • Valid Driver's license and a car to perform outreach duties (physical postings around the city)
  • Computer skills (MS Office, Publisher, Photoshop, Canva, etc)
  • Knowledge of social media, preferred
  • Spanish/English or Korean/English proficiency, preferred to create linguistically and culturally appropriate outreach materials
  • Communication skills - volunteer must be comfortable speaking to potential clients and partners about our services and mission.

We are looking for ESL tutor volunteers. Tutoring usually lasts about 1 hour and during this hour you will help the student with their reading, writing, and grammar skills. We will pair you with a student at the time that is most convenient for the both of you. Therefore, we are very flexible with hours.
