ORGANIZATION: Guadalupe River Park Conservancy

Education Garden Maintenance Volunteers:

Guadalupe River Park Conservancy (GRPC) is looking for a regular group of individuals (high school/college clubs preferred) to help us create and maintain our Education Garden. We would like to have individuals with gardening experience, and those that can help us seasonally maintain our plantings.

This garden will be used as a teaching tool for our homeschool group, as well as for other groups participating in our education programs.

Experience is not a requirement, but those with little experience must be willing to learn quickly.

Some examples of tasks are:

  • Garden planning and mapping
  • Pruning
  • Mulching
  • Dead-heading plants
  • Weeding
  • Discussing garden strategies
We are flexible with tasks depending on the interest(s) of the individual group.

Ideal Candidate(s):

We are looking for individuals, or a group of individuals, that are independent, knowledgeable of plants (or willing to learn), and able to work with minimal direction.

Time Requirement:

Our hours are flexible, although we do want a long-term volunteer group that will eventually be regular care-takers of this space.
