Young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who aren’t in school or at work are at serious risk of experiencing long-term poverty and unemployment. With a little bit of coaching and a big dose of encouragement, you can play a pivotal role in helping them reach for their American dream.

We are looking for mentors age 50+ for a six-month commitment to meet with a young person at least once a month with additional touchpoints via phone, text or email to provide ongoing support. To set these relationships up for success, mentors will work in partnership with local workforce development programs, receive in-person training, and have continual access to expert support.

Consider becoming a mentor to help close the opportunity gap for a young person so they can, in turn, help build communities and families that prosper into the next generation. You’ll get back so much more than you give!

The Deadline has been extended one week to July 23rd.

Mission Statement

We’re mobilizing people over 50 to help young people who need champions.

Description

Generation to Generation (Gen2Gen) is a diverse, action-oriented community of people who believe that experience matters, and that the goal of later life isn’t trying to remain young: it’s to be there for those who actually are. Because every child deserves a web of support, and every older adult has something to give.

The campaign shines a light on the mutual benefits of intergenerational relationships already happening, and features countless opportunities for people to get involved.
