Whole Family Care is a Christian nonprofit organization in the Northland and we are looking for volunteer childcare workers to join our team. This is a part-time position, caring for children aged 6 weeks through 2 years, working one 4 hour shift each week (8:30am-12:30pm/2:00pm-6:00pm). We can be flexible on scheduling to accommodate your availability. Our ministry is focused on the whole family, so we welcome your infant-preschool aged child(ren) to accompany you during your volunteer shift (as schedules allow).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care

  • Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children

  • Help children keep good hygiene

  • Change the diapers of infants and toddlers as well as potty train
  • Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interest

  • Communicate all concerns regarding classroom, children, and parents to Child Care Director

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a paid or voluntary position

  • Must pass a background check, have a complete record of immunizations, and meet a minimum training requirement

  • CPR and first aid certified (or willing to get certified)
  • Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • The ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children

We are a childcare facility providing no charge or low charge, high quality childcare to qualifying, low income, single parent families. As part of our program the parents are required to participate in a mentoring relationship once a week.
