If you would like to make a difference in a child's life and enjoy working with kids, please consider SAY San Diego for your volunteer experience!

SAY San Diego is often looking for Homework Helpers to help kids during our after-school programs. There are 40+ elementary and middle schools that have SAY San Diego after-school programs. We try to place volunteers at a location that is near their home/work. After-school programs start at 2:30 PM, 3:00 PM, 3:30 PM or 4:00 PM, depending on the school. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you must have availability during program hours.

We recruit volunteers for our after-school programs twice a year: July/August and November/December. Volunteers begin in September or January.

Volunteers work a minimum of one hour per week and must make a commitment to volunteer for a minimum of 4 months. Volunteers need to pass through a clearance process that includes fingerprinting, TB testing and drug screening. Note that you must be 18 years of age to volunteer.
