KNCB Garden Workday - Volunteer in the butterfly garden

Keep North Charleston Beautiful has a garden workday most Wednesdays. We have a lot of gardening to do in the butterfly garden. We will be cutting back plants and making sure all the garden has plenty of pinestraw.

There are many benefits to volunteering with KNCB. Some of these benefits are you will get plenty of exercise, meet new people, learn about gardening and help your community by volunteering. An opportunity to earn volunteer time for a President’s Volunteer Service Award. Please let us know if you are interested in that when you come in to volunteer.

We will begin working at 8:00am and work until 12pm or when we get finished. We will need up to 20 volunteers for the workday. All of the volunteers do not need to come from one group and individuals are welcome. You can volunteer for the entire time or part of it. Come volunteer with us and help North Charleston bloom with beauty!

Some of the tasks volunteers will be doing include: putting down newspaper and pine straw, deadheading plants, moving plants, creating a new planting area and other garden-related tasks. We will have all the tools you need but if you have any tools that you may want to use bring them along. Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress comfortably. Remember your sunscreen, hat, insect repellant and anything else you may need to be comfortable. We do have bottled water in the office and a cooler to refill you water containers if you choose to bring them.
