AMT is looking for a new treasurer! If you've got small business financial management skills, want to be a part of the leadership team, and love working with people, we want to get in touch with you!

The treasurer works with an external accountant and bookkeeper to oversee the org's finances. The treasurer's duties fall under three categories: financial management, leadership, and member service.

Financial Management:

A qualified treasurer applicant should have basic understanding of accounting principles. More importantly, we're interested in financial management skills pertaining to small businesses. The treasurer manages the org's yearly budget process that determines how resources are allocated to meet the org's goals, as well as working on special projects. On a day to day basis, the treasurer handles AMT's cash activities, E-commerce, and retail record keeping. Applicants should be comfortable using Excel and QuickBooks Online.

Leadership:

Anyone interested in the treasurer position should be excited to drive process development and automation, and create financial policies based on the org's mission, vision, and values. The treasurer also oversees the org's finances. Management skills are particularly important because much of the day-to-day financial work may be delegated. The treasurer must have the ability to oversee processes, audit for checks and balances, and report out regularly.

Member services:

Our org thrives on accountability and transparency. The treasurer must have good communication skills and be prompt in responding to financial questions and issues. Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to help people are important.

Other skills:

Since well-kept finances are crucial to the org's success, the treasurer needs to pay strong attention to detail, have the ability to meet deadlines, and be able to communicate clearly with the rest of the leadership team. A background check is required.
