Volunteer Coordinator
At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we're passionate about our mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS volunteers help carry out this mission in so many ways: supporting patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and our community, driving policy advocacy, participating in our campaigns, and helping LLS build much needed capacity.
Position Summary
Reporting to Brenna Wood, Campaign Specialist, Logistics, the purpose of this role is to provide support for the recruitment and onboarding of chapter volunteers including scheduling interviews, orientation and onboarding and training volunteers. The outcomes of this role serve our mission work by helping LLS recruit volunteers. Tasks for this role include:
- Provide assistance with volunteer recruiting efforts
- Coordinate orientation and trainings for incoming volunteers
- Ensure any necessary provisioning is completed for incoming volunteers
- Work with LLS staff to plan and execute volunteer celebrations

Time Commitment
10-20 hours per week
Flexible Schedule based on mutually agreed upon times. Project starts as soon as appropriate volunteer is identified and runs indefinitely.
Qualifications
Volunteer should possess the following skills/qualifications:
- Familiar with online volunteer sites (VolunteerMatch, HandsOn Connect, LinkedInForGood, etc)
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Training experience a plus

LLS will provide the volunteer with an orientation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as well as training on the following:

Understanding of LLS onboarding and organizational structure

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Minnesota Chapter was founded in 1982 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves the states of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
