Are you handy? Do you have experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting or other skills for home construction?
Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County is looking for volunteers to help this fall when we will be breaking ground on 9 new homes in Paso Robles. Once we begin building, we will need dozens of skilled construction volunteers. If you have special skills, training or experience with home construction, this is an opportunity for you to contribute to Habitat's goal of providing quality, affordable housing for families in our community!
We also need volunteers experienced in making minor home repairs for our Home Preservation program. Habitat helps low-income homeowners maintain the comfort and safety of their homes with a variety of projects all year long and throughout San Luis Obispo County. Fixer volunteers help by completing tasks such as installing grab bars for seniors and people with disabilities, fixing door handles and locks, installing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, etc.
If you have experience with construction, home repairs, or know your way around a toolbox, Habitat can put you to work! Please contact us or fill out the interest form at: https://www.hfhsloco.org/volunteer/ and let us know dates this fall that you are available, skills/experience you have and if you have a preference for a certain type of project or location in the county.

HFHSLOCO was established in 1997 and is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. San Luis Obispo County is one of the least affordable small metropolitan areas in the nation according to the National Association of Home Builders. The County is in a severe affordable housing crisis as low income workers have extreme difficulty finding affordable homes to live in. To address this housing need, HFHSLOCO uses volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money, materials, and services to build homes that are affordable to very-low and low-income families, maintaining the existing affordable housing stock, and revitalize communities through its Neighborhood Revitalization efforts.
