Volunteer needed to serve as Facilitator of DAPS speech therapy and group exercise class on Tuesdays This class is free of charge and for people affected with Parkinson's disease.
DAPS offers free exercise classes and speech therapy to those affected by Parkinson's disease at this location. Classes are led by an instructor and the Facilitator's role is:
- Keep record of class attendance
- Set up necessary class supplies (light hand weights, balls, etc.)
- Ensure participants complete necessary paperwork
This is a great opportunity to meet people and help those affected by Parkinson's disease. Speech therapy class is each Tuesday from 9:30 to 10 am and group exercise class is from 10 am to 11 am each Tuesday. Volunteer needed during duration of both classes.

DAPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized in 1978 by Clarice Dougherty to provide support to those, like her husband, who struggle with Parkinson's disease. We provide free and low-cost resources to people with Parkinson's and their loved ones, including group exercise, speech/swallowing therapy, Dance for PD(r), care partner support groups, monthly educational/motivational meetings, and a monthly newsletter.
