This is a great opportunity to get website development experience and expand your portfolio while helping a worthy cause. Update and create new website pages using UXUI WIreframes to optimize the functionality of the site. Work with a Certified Scrum Master and PO in agile methodology with a small team.

The Organization
App to Succeed Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that aims to break the cycle of poverty in the United States by empowering all Americans. but especially those at risk, with the information the need to achieve financial success. Our current program is designed for 16-19-year-olds

Assignments

1. Develop interactive pages
2. Connect pages to database
3. Help design flow of information and navigation
4. Add log in portal
5. Add or change media
6. Set up custom navigation
7. Design blog pages and archive
8. Set up payment page.

Program to trigger custom emails.

Compensation
We regret, as a nonprofit, we are not, yet, able to pay our interns and volunteers, but we do offer other forms of compensation:
1. For fulfilling your volunteer commitment, your name will be acknowledged on the organizations' website and in the credits of the software program when published.
2. Academic credit and / or community service hours are given, with school approval.
3. Volunteers who complete their assignments, exceed expectations, and make a significant contribution to the project. will receive a personal letter of reference written by the CEO.
4. Volunteers will benefit from the personal finance information he/she learns about when posting content.
5. Flexibility:

• Hours are flexible
• Start dates and end dates are flexible.
• Work is done remotely and meetings teleconferenced or by phone saving the time and cost of commuting.

Requirements

Professionals, graduate students, or undergraduate with advanced website development skills, training, and experience are encouraged to apply.
WordPress proficiency required. Expert in current WordPress preferred.
If you have the ability to teach yourself WordPress quickly and would be willing to volunteer more hours or longer than 4 months that would also be considered.

Ability to:

• find best solutions to problems.
• make changes to website on the host site but offline
• take approved changes live without disrupting service.
• make global changes and individual changes to graphics, and written content in a professional manner.
• work well independently and collaboratively and is familiar with Agile Methodology
• communicates well with non-technical management effectively is a plus
• learn quickly from a tutorial and other online technical communities and resource.
• edit and improve website manual designed for technical and non-technical users as needed.
• load videos and animation and audio, and code navigation
• Connect page to PayPal

Prefer candidates proficient in:

• SQL database/email links, input and output of database
• testing function of PayPal, Setting up functionality
• setting up blog
• improving speed, navigation and security of website as needed update site map and contact features.

Prefer 15-25 hours per week for the first few weeks, an average of 2-5 hours ongoing

Skills

Required - Website Design, Website Development, CSS, JavaScript, html, WordPress, Effective at working remotely
Preferred - WordPress, Computer Graphics Design, Website Administration, Leadership skills, Website Content, Experience with building interactive websites connected to database and PayPal
