Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center

We have several opportunities for volunteers!

Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center (GMTRC) welcomes volunteers 14 years of age and older to assist in our Equine Assisted Activities program, as well as horse care, barn help, special events, fundraising, and more!

GMTRC teaches therapeutic horsemanship and riding skills to children and adults with special needs. Our volunteers find serving as a part of our program to be incredibly rewarding. Whether you are an enthusiast with many years of equine experience, or someone with no experience, you will gain many personal benefits, opportunities to learn, and the chance to share in our students’ joys and triumphs.

For additional information, please see our Volunteers page where you can submit an application and start the process of becoming a volunteer!

Mission Statement

Mission: To enhance the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities. Vision: To grow and be acknowledged as a diverse therapeutic riding program of distinction that is recognized in our community and beyond.

Description

Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides quality equine programs for children and adults with special needs. Our mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities. This is done in a fun and non-judgmental setting where riders enjoy friendships, improve self-esteem, develop physical strength, and increase socialization.

We are in need of all types of volunteers, not just operational volunteers or those who have experience with horses! People with different backgrounds and expertise, from marketing to finance to landscaping or construction, are just as valuable to our operation as those who are directly involved with our horses and students!

We can only achieve our mission with the help of many dedicated volunteers who give their time and support throughout the year. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Those who are on our volunteer team will have opportunities to work with our riders, horses, and staff through 6-week sessions and unmounted clinics. We also have special events, such as our annual horse show and our annual Gala, that we can always use additional help for! Training is provided for all volunteers.

Come join our herd! Please feel free to reach out to us directly in order to learn more about how you can benefit from serving others with us!
