We are seeking faculty volunteers for morning (8:30-11:00) and/or afternoon (1:30-4:00) for multiple roles at the Interprofessional Education Student Orientation.

We need the most volunteers for a "Speed Dating" activity, in which faculty from various health professions will sit with students at three different tables (rotating every 5 minutes) to share about your professional work and what your profession does more broadly (10-10:30 morning and 3:00-3:30 afternoon).

We also need support with registration at both sessions. Thank you!

Over 500 students will be attending, including from UVM College of Medicine, Albany College of Pharmacy, nursing, SLP, PT, counseling, social work, medical laboratory and radiation sciences, athletic training, and dietetics.

About University of Vermont

Location:

489 Main Street, Pomeroy Hall, Burlington, VT 05405, US

Mission Statement

To prepare future health care professionals for team-based practice that promotes the health of individuals, families, and communities and to partner with practicing health care professionals to create an enduring education-practice collaborative, and to create a culture of IP collaboration at UVM that is founded on a need for an interprofessional curriculum among health professions that address quality, safety and cost of patient-centered care (Triple Aim).

Description

Coordinated efforts to value the contributions of each profession undertaken among health professions programs at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS), at the UVM Medical Center in professional practice, Albany College of Pharmacy and at the Department of Nursing Faculty Practice have resulted in educational and team-based initiatives that improve patient outcomes and enhance patient and family satisfaction.

IPE requires commitment from UVM and community-based students and faculty, the mentors of our students and trainees, and those who employ our graduates. Interprofessional education (IPE) in CNHS supports learners in health professions programs to work together to cultivate knowledge and share responsibility for team-based holistic care of patients and clients in an increasingly more complex health care delivery system.
