K.A.G Siaka School for the Blind and deaf is situated in rural area in Kenya. Most of these pupils are orphans and some were abandoned by their parents because of their disability or they just cannot afford to cater for their special needs. This prompted the local KAG church and the community to take action and open this center, and make the life of the children better!
The main goal is to support around 20 deaf and blind special children by funding the Siaka School located in western region of Kenya. Through your help we will be able to provide them with special stationery like braille books, beds and other basic needs therefore those lovely children will have a conducive environment to study which will promote good results. They will not feel stigmatized when they grow up and will find a proper place in the society. Disability is not inability!
We are looking especially for international volunteers that can bring outside point of view and professional experience. It is preferred when the volunteer is with us more than 2 months. It takes some time to get on board which makes shorter stays almost non effective. In any case, we are able to provide an accommodation and food at a host family for volunteers.
