Daisy C.H.A.I.N. Creating Healthy Alliances In New-Mothering (DC) is growing and recruiting for volunteer and staff positions. DC provides the community with research and evidence-based support services and education for new-mothers and families. Located in Eugene and serving all of Lane County, DC is a 501c3 nonprofit serving families with FREE in-home and community based award winning programs. Programs are delivered with a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed approach and a commitment to equitable access for all families. Current programs include Homevisiting Program: In-home Professional Postpartum Doula and IBCLC visits during the first 2 weeks post-pregnancy or adoption; Nursing Nook walk-in individual breastfeeding consults from an IBCLC in a group setting, no appointment necessary, baby scale available; Baby Pop Music Singing and Signing geared toward families with babies 0-2; Baby Pop 2 Music and Movement aimed toward children 2 -5 and their caregiver.

Volunteer Professional Postpartum Doula provides services to families in their homes for two weeks post-pregnancy/adoption and one prenatal homevisit. Doula services are delivered with the professional standards outlined by Doula’s professional training: CAPPA, DONA, Birth Arts International. Other professional postpartum doula trainings may be approved by supervisor. Daisy C.H.A.I.N.’s Doula’s have access to peer support, guidance on individual client cases from senior Doulas, and a monthly check-in with DC supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend required meetings and in-services/trainings
  • Check your email regularly for schedule changes, updates, and staff communication.
  • Complete and turn in volunteer timelog as scheduled.
  • Complete client documentation in a timely nature.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA-compliant records.
  • Meet individually with Supervisors for case-management and to monitor paperwork completion, as needed.
  • Provide Postpartum Doula support within Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics of professional doula association to women and families.
  • Provide knowledgeable, evidence-based postpartum support.
  • Uphold DC’s mission, vision, and values
  • Other duties as we deem appropriate
Requirements
  • Have completed or will complete Professional Postpartum Doula training
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • Willingness to pass state background check
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Have completed or will complete DC approved Trauma-Informed and Diversity Training
  • Other items as necessary
We are looking for someone that
  • Enjoys working with others, contributes to a team environment, willing to learn and be accountable
  • Can serve clients as a Homevisiting Postpartum Doula for up to five 2-hour homevisits within the first 2 weeks post-pregnancy/adoption
  • Flexible to changing needs of the nonprofit organization
