AIS (Aquatic Invasive Species) Education and Outreach Program, volunteers will assist our boat launch stewards in the dissemination of educational materials, inspection of watercrafts, sample collection and may be asked to take a few photos that can be done with the use of a smart phone. Our boat launch stewards will be stationed at the following public boat launches: Oswego (Wright’s Landing), Henderson Harbor, Sackets Harbor and Cape Vincent. You will meet the launch steward at their designated public boat launch and can volunteer as many times as you like or just once from June through Labor Day Weekend. Our boat launch stewards work Wednesdays-Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. but you may volunteer for the length of time that you are comfortable with. If you feel you’d like to volunteer more than once, you may go to the same launch or try all four! Over the past three years, we have found that the public is very engaging and interested in keeping invasives out of our waterways!
