Black Cube | A Nomadic Art Museum
Our Story
Black Cube is a nonprofit, experimental art museum that operates nomadically. Without the traditional boundaries of a physical building, Black Cube exists primarily through partnering with artist fellows to commission pop up art experiences. We describe ourselves as an unconventional museum pursuing the most effective ways to engage audiences while supporting individual artists with critical professional guidance.
Volunteer Opportunities
As a volunteer at Black Cube, you play an integral role in the development of our newly formed, nomadic art museum. We are always seeking volunteers to help with upcoming pop up art experiences and programming. Given that our exhibitions and programs are ever-evolving, our volunteer opportunities are unique to each event. But, here's a list of roles and responsibilities:

Black Cube is a nonprofit, experimental art museum that nurtures the self-sufficiency of artists and inspires people to discover and appreciate contemporary art beyond traditional white museum and gallery walls.
Our Story: The traditional idea of a museum, on its head
Unlike stationary museums marked primarily by their architecture, Black Cube has no permanent exhibition space or collection. We prefer to be defined by the art and artists (known as fellows) that we present and support. We begin with the ideas of our artist fellows and craft customize each art experience based on their thoughts and concept.
Working outside the boundaries of a gallery space, Black Cube is always evolving as it explores experimental approaches to presenting and engaging the art of today. Furthermore, by constantly changing our location, our projects aspire to reach new audiences not regularly exposed to contemporary art.
Founded in 2015 by artist and philanthropist, Laura Merage, the institution upholds the belief that art is an essential part of a vibrant, just, and healthy society.
We'll work with your schedule.
