Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, located at 16 th Street and First Avenue in Manhattan, has opportunities for volunteers in our new Volunteer Guest Services Program. Volunteers will welcome patients and visitors as they enter the Hospital. Volunteers will assist in providing directions, as well as offer to escort patients and visitors to their destination within the Hospital. Mount Sinai Beth Israel occupies space in several connected buildings, and the layout can be confusing, especially for people dealing with the stress of a hospitalization. The Guest Services Volunteers will help to alleviate that stress by offering guidance and reassurance.

Volunteering in this program will provide the chance to build interpersonal skills and witness the day to day function of a healthcare organization. All Guest Services Volunteers will be asked to serve at least one 3-4 hour session per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. They will have the use of hospital resources in the course of their work to enable them to assist patients and visitors. They will be required to complete the hospital’s volunteer onboarding process, which includes showing proof of various vaccinations and passing a medical exam as well as a criminal background check. They must be legally qualified to work in the United States.
