ORGANIZATION: Friends of the Wells Branch Library

Help children ages 5 and up build STEM skills by constructing LEGO robots and programming them on a tablet. LEGO Lab is a weekly LEGO Workshop, where children ages 5 can reserve a robotics kit to build a LEGO robot step by step with instruction on a tablet. The volunteer will help set up, distribute LEGO WeDo 2.0 robotics kits, and will assist children with building the LEGO robots, and locate missing parts. No LEGO or robotics experience necessary. The volunteer will receive full training on the robotics. They will also assist with cleaning up after the program.

Masks required while on library property.

Description

Friends of the Wells Branch Community Library (FOL) is a local organization that supports the community library by helping to fund special programs, provide equipment and provide volunteers for all areas of the library including children's programs, employment assistance, and computer services to the general public. The FOL secures volunteers to help move books and other materials into the hands of the patrons.
