Greenheart Exchange, a non-profit student exchange organization, is seeking volunteers in the Olympia, WA area to host Japanese exchange students 2 - 3 weeks starting July 25th. The students are between the ages of 14 and 15. During the program the students have English classes and activities most weekdays, so the program is suitable for busy, working families. (Family members may also join on activities, if they wish.). We can also pair one host with another to split the placement if there is a vacation or conflict that makes either party unable to host the full time.

The following students are in need of host families:

Hosting can help you make an international friend and explore your own community through new eyes.

Hosts provide a bed (students may share a room with similarly aged host sibling), meals, and a warm and safe environment. Students come with spending money and insurance, and hosts are provided with a $50 weekly stipend to help offset expenses. A local American coordinator and Japanese leader are available to provide support to students and hosts 24-7. We welcome couples with and without children, single parents, and empty nesters.
