During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Join the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes for Stewardship Saturdays! Volunteers are invited to participate in hands-on environmental stewardship projects that preserve the marsh, forest, and stream habitats found throughout our local parkland. Tasks may include land and trail maintenance, pulling invasive plants, planting native plants, or trash and debris removal.
Stewardship Saturdays are once-a-month starting March 28 from 10AM - Noon. No gardening or land management experience is necessary and the Nature Center provides gloves, tools, and marsh boots. The Nature Center is undergoing a large habitat restoration effort as part of a larger capital improvement project to restore and enhance its outdoor classroom so there are plenty of opportunities to become involved in stewarding our native local habitats. Organized groups interested in additional habitat restoration projects are also available.
Dates: Apr 25, May 16, Jun 27, Aug 29, Sep 26 & Oct 31
Pre-register for this program: visit https://shakerlakes.org/volunteer/or email Jeanette Moore at email@example.com
