Opticians and Vision Lab Techs needed for HUGE free medical, dental, and vision clinic

California CareForce's mission is to provide free medical, dental, and vision services to those in need at 3-day clinics across the state. Since 2011, we have provided critical care worth $11.7 million to over 29,000 patients thanks to 13,000 professional and general volunteers. 85% of our patients are uninsured or under-insured and among the most vulnerable populations in California. We do not have any restrictions on who can receive our services based on insurance, income, employment, residency, or immigration status because our volunteers believe that everyone deserves basic healthcare.

The Vision Section will provide eye health checks, vision exams, and custom prescription eyeglasses made on-site to 600-800 patients over all 3 days of our 2018 Sacramento Clinic. Volunteers will be expected to serve for at least 1 day. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided. Our plug-and-play environment, complete will all the equipment and supplies you'll need, makes volunteering easy too. You'll love being part of our community of caring, dedicated volunteers in addition to improving the quality of life of under-served individuals and families in the region.

Both laboratory and dispensing technicians are needed. Please indicate your specialty when you register to volunteer.
