The Family Lounge volunteer is the hub for communications for patients having surgical procedures; acting as the liaision for the sugical suite staff, recovery room team, the physician and the patient's family/friends. Special skills of conversation, clear communication and organization are keys to success as a Family Lounge volunteer.
A volunteer does not need expereince in the medical field but must feel comfortable in a health care setting.
Chester County Hospital volunteers enjoy free self and valet parking. TB screening and a criminal background check are required and offered at no cost. Volunteer jackets are purchased from the volunteer services department for $22.
This opportunity is available on Monday or Wednesday afternoon from 4pm - 6pm.

Chester County Hospital, which is part of Penn Medicine, is dedicated to the health and well-being of the people in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas.
The hospital is a 329-bed inpatient complex in West Chester, PA. Chartered in 1892 as a 10-bed dispensary, the hospital has been serving Chester County and its surrounding communities for more than 125 years.
