Mentors needed for Scott County students

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: United Way of the Bluegrass, Inc

RSVP Trailblazers, a Senior Corps project, seeks caring, responsible adults to mentor middle school and high school students in the area.

Our mentors will:

  • Guide a young person through the school year
  • Listen to students without judgment
  • Be reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Model good behavior and sound judgment
  • Help students set personal and academic goals and stick to them

All volunteers for RSVP Trailblazers must be 55 or older, must pass a background check, and must be willing to meet students for at least an hour a week during the school year, beginning in September 2018.

Mentors make a difference. Students need a responsible, positive adult influence who is neither a parent nor a teacher through their teen years. By sharing your time and experience, you can help a young person grow, mature, and meet adulthood with a realistic plan in place.
