Community Food Bank is dedicated to ending hunger in the Central Valley. We provide food to more than 200 agencies in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Kern and Tulare Counties and serve over 280,000 people each month totaling over 38 million pounds of food served in fiscal year 2016.
Recognizing the opportunity to rescue edible food that would otherwise go to landfills, Community Food Bank sorts donated product from farmers, grocers, retailers, food processers, and packing houses. Once sorted for safety and quality standards, food will then distributed to families and individuals in our service area.
Be a Product Repack (PR) Volunteer Leader to help Community Food Bank rescue tons of newly diverted healthy and edible food to be distributed in disadvantage communities!
The PR Volunteer Leaders will help assist the Volunteer Manager in assuring the setup, coordination, supervision, and proper completion of sorting produce donations in the DC. In addition, the PR Volunteer Leaders will assist with the donation/receiving operations to observe the quality of the product and sanitation and makes recommendations regarding product lifespan or usability
