VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION


Position: Housing Programs Outreach Coordinator and Educator (volunteer; 5 hours per week commitment for six or more months; work from home with minimal Agency office time required).

Supervisor:
Manager, Housing & Financial Stability Programs
Supervisees:
None

DUTIES: Under the direction of the Manager, Housing & Financial Stability Programs and in accordance with HUD guidelines and agency policy, the incumbent shall:

  • Conduct marketing operations to increase program service numbers.
  • Cultivate partnerships in support of the housing program with emphasis on pre-purchase counseling; initially to cold-call/visit those in the real estate profession to gain referrals to the Housing Program’s pre-purchase counseling program.
  • Arrange and teach the Agency’s Art of Debt Management financial literacy class; collect proper intake information and administer surveys as required.
  • Ensure operations are compliant with the HUD Handbook.
  • Attend Agency high-attendance public forums such as job fairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a finance or real estate field or substantial experience as a financial educator or within the real estate profession; may not currently work for a mortgage lending institution or within the real estate profession.
  • Excellent organization, teaching and communications skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
  • Must possess average computer skills and competence in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to understand and use Counselor Max database.
