American Lung Association in Delaware

Get your walking shoes ready for the 2nd annual Lung Force Walk held on the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. Delaware on Saturday, October 13, 2019 at 8 AM. Join us as we take over the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, walking to raise money and awareness of Lung Cancer, America’s number 1 cancer killer of women. We walk to honor all of those who are battling with Lung Cancer and Lung Disease. Together we are a force to be reckoned with. Register Now to be a part of the Lung Force movement. Every Step Counts! We are looking for about 40 people to help with the production of this event. Volunteers will help set up tents and tables, place signage and course markings, oversee event tents, distribute water to participants, and help break down the tents and load into the vans. We are asking volunteers to be one site at 6 am and can accommodate special requests if needed. We can tailor your volunteer experience to fit your specific needs or interests, especially in regards to physical ability. We thank you in advance for your support and participation!

The American Lung Association in DE provides various programs and services throughout Delaware to support in the fight against lung disease, and to promote lung health. The ALA offers smoking cessation programs, COPD and Asthma support groups "Better Breathers Club," lead the Kick Butts Generation - a youth lead anti-tobacco organization, Asthma camps offered to children suffering with asthma, and much more! The American Lung Association works tirelessly to provide funding for research on curing lung disease, while leading the efforts to fight for clean air - including the Delaware Beaches new smoke free policies!
