Walk to Defeat ALS
Walk to Defeat ALS

We need volunteers to help set up and help during the Pocatello Walk to Defeat ALS. Set up includes putting up canopies, tables, signs, water station, and decorating for the event. During the event we need volunteers to help with registration and t shirt distribution. After the Walk- about 12:30pm- we will take everything down and load the van. This is a fun and fairly easy event to help set up and take down. There will be food provided during the event.
ALS is a progressive, neurodegenerative disease which is 100% fatal with no known cure. Most of the money raised at this event will go to assist local ALS patients and their families/caregivers. The ALS Association provides in home visits from a Care Coordinator to help with the complexities of living with this disease. We also loan medical equipment to patients, as needed, free of charge. Some of the other services this event supports are respite grants to caregivers, research, advocacy, support groups, workshops, ALS clinics and research for a cure.
