Sunday, September 9 is a day where we come together to give back to our community. From noon through 5pm, The Flint Hills Discovery Center will open its doors, free of charge, to visitors this day. Additionally, we will partner with other local community partners to bring fun, engaging, hands-on STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, and Math) experiences to guests! Fun for all ages.
Volunteer Support makes these events possible! On the day of the event, we will need a variety of help including assisting with activities, welcome, attendance recording, and more.

Mission Statement
The Flint Hills Discovery Center inspires people to celebrate, explore, and care for the Flint Hills. To accomplish our mission, we have developed an extensive array of exhibits and programs that are exciting, educational, authentic, and that engage visitors of all ages from all walks of life. We have meticulously crafted and developed these exhibits and programs to educate and inspire a life-long commitment to learning. The research used to develop our displays and activities derive from the results of active partnerships with many different people and organizations. We also acknowledge to fulfill our mission and vision, the Flint Hills Discovery Center is a living, growing, and evolving institution capable of fulfilling long-term sustainability goals on a physical, philosophical, and financial level.
Description
Volunteer Support is a crucial part of the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Volunteers help with programs, give tours, assist with field trips, work outreach booths, run activities at special events, and more. We are a people and family focused institution and our volunteers are an important part of our team! Without our volunteers, we would not be able to provide our community with the high quality educational programs, exhibits, and experiences that we have.
