Did you know: Loneliness can accelerate cognitive decline in older adults, and isolated individuals are twice as likely to die prematurely as those with more robust social interactions .
Do you have 15 minutes each week to visit with a hospice patient? Only 15 minutes a week can make a world of difference to a hospice patient that lives alone and never has any visitors. Just picture your grandma , lying in bed with only healthcare workers stopping in to take care of them. If you live 200 miles away, I am thinking you hope someone would stop in to see her. Did you 92% of our patients do not have family members, or a church family to stop by for a few minutes each week Isn't this sad?
