The Parenting class is an 8 session course held at our office here in Lake Charles and at St. Michael and All Angels Church. We combine Effective Parenting in a Defective World by Chip Ingram and the LA DOC approved course Partners in Parenting by the Texas Institute of Behavioral Research at TCU. Each of these courses is consistent with "elements found in evidence-based psychosocial interventions, including but not limited to Parent Child Interaction Therapy and Modeling Therapy." Partners in Parenting is a registered National Resource and Environmental Policy Program (NREPP) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) course. This course is offered several times annually to the public, incarcerated and recently released with breaks in between as part of a continuum of care.

The Open Door FBCO, Inc. (TOD) is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization. We offer mentoring and classes to women housed at the Calcasieu Correctional Center and to those recently released.
