ORGANIZATION: Grass River Natural Area

volunteers sorting macros at the center
The 10 am volunteer shift sorts through and ID's the macros collected by the 8 am crew. All ages are welcomed at the 10 am shift--kids are excellent at observing very small bugs in the samples!

Did you know that the types of bugs we find in a stream can be great indicators of the health of the stream? Join us for one of the most popular citizen science programs we offer as we collect and ID aquatic insects from Shanty Creek and learn about this amazing connection. Lunch is provided and registration is required for this event. For more information contact volunteer@grassriver.org or call 231-533-8314.
