Requirements for this position

• A strong desire to save dogs from rural kill shelters
• A strong desire to get all the details correct and complete. If you're a grammar geek or someone who lives for spell check and proofreading, yeah that's kinda what we're lookin' for.
• You should be someone who just really gets a kick out of a job well done and adores dogs.
• Outgoing (from behind your keyboard, we're not asking you to do public speaking. LOL)
• Comfortable being "the organizer"
• Great at proofreading
• Typing speed minimum 60 words a minute
• Able to read and follow instructions (during the learning phase)
• Ideally, very comfortable with spreadsheets (but we can train)
• Ideally, very comfortable with Google docs (but we can train)
• Very comfortable with Microsoft Word and the tables feature.
• Very comfortable using the Internet on a desktop or laptop computer. This position cannot be done from a smart phone.
• This work can be done from anywhere in the US as long as you have good speed Internet access. Most of us are in the Eastern time zone, so that is preferable. But if you're ok with adjusting your clock mentally when talking to our people, then time zone is irrelevant.
• You will be required to join several groups.io groups. It's an online discussion groups service similar to the old Yahoogroups. We will train you on how to use this service.

If you would like to help us save dogs and meet the requirements above, we would like to talk to you about training you to become a transport coordinator for our rescue/transport network. We have been doing this since the early 2000's. We have an established driver network. We have detailed instructions for you to follow.

This position involves:

• Talking (via email) to our sending shelters about getting the details added to the spreadsheets and photos added to a photos document.
• Cleaning up the data in the spreadsheets in preparation for driver recruiting.
• Sorting in spreadsheets.
• Manually copying/pasting in spreadsheets.
• Talking to receiving rescues to get them to add their driver info to the spreadsheets.
• Talking to drivers to ask them to drive on transports.
• Transports happen on Saturday and Sunday. Your work starts the Monday before with spreadsheet preparation, getting the details via reminding shelters/rescues, and then Wednesday morning you start talking to the drivers.

We have the templates and instructions all ready to go.
We have an experienced coordinator who can train you along with a detailed instructions document.

All we need is your ongoing commitment for 1-2 weeks per month. In actuality, once you are trained, this probably takes (at most) an hour per day Monday-Friday from the comfort of your home at any time of the day or night you're available to do the work.

This position is not suitable for:

• Meek/shy people
• People who struggle with proofreading or details.
• People who don't have the time to dedicate on a daily basis
