The Run
Run for Ukraine: 5K Run and Kids Fun Run is a charitable event organized by Utah Ukrainian Association, a non-profit organization. The 3rd annual run will take place at 10 a.m., July 7, 2018, at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Volunteer help is needed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Cause
Many Ukrainians lost family members and homes due to the ongoing war in Eastern Ukraine. For the last three years, Utah Ukrainian Association has been focusing on assisting the internally displaced families and children who lost their parents as the result of the war. We have also been raising funds and sending shipments to Ukrainian orphanages, including nonperishable food items and other necessities these organizations in Ukraine are often short on. The proceeds from the event will go toward these charitable causes.
Volunteering Opportunities
We need help in the following areas:
- Distributing waters at the track
- Placing stickers on runners at the track after each completed loop
- Timing at the finish line
- Helping out at the start and finish of the kids fun run
- Face painting
- Taking photos and/or videos
Thank you!
Utah Ukrainian Association team
P.S.: You don't have to speak Ukrainian or Russian. But if you do, this will give you a chance to practice ;)
P.P.S.: If instead of volunteering, you'd rather run, feel free to do that too. Registration page is at tiny.cc/run4ukraine :)
