Host a French exchange student this July for 3 - 4 weeks
ORGANIZATION: Greenheart Exchange
Please visit the new page to apply.
Greenheart Exchange, a non-profit student exchange organization, is seeking volunteer host families with a teen in the home in the greater D.C. area (within 90 minutes of D.C.) to host one of two upcoming French exchange students on our Independent Homestay Program. These students will spend time with the host participating in everyday activities and exploring the community on their own, with the aim of improving their English and getting to know American culture. Below is more info about the participants:
- Thomas, from France, is 15 years old. He arrives July 1st and will stay four weeks, until July 28th. Thomas’s interests include being outdoors, soccer, jogging, water activities(swimming, sailing, waterskiing), and listening to music.
- Victor, from France, is 16 years old. He arrives July 8th and will stay three weeks, until July 29th. Victor's interests include American football, rugby, soccer, surfing, science and video games. He believes deeply in supporting the rights of all human beings.
Hosting can help you make an international friend and explore your own community through new eyes.
Hosts provide a bed (student may share a room with similarly aged host sibling), meals, and a warm and safe environment. Our students come with spending money and insurance. A local American coordinator provides ongoing support to the student and host family. A few short weeks can lead to lifetime friendships!
If you are interested in hosting either of these students, please complete a host inquiry here and indicate which student you are interested in hosting, in the comments:
