About St. Mary's Services

Location:

510 N PLUM GROVE RD, PALATINE, IL 60067, US

Mission Statement

St. Mary's Services builds stable families that result in stronger communities. We open our hearts and arms to everyone, treating all with the dignity and respect they deserve. We ensure the well being of children by providing holistic support for the adoption journey both pre and post placement; delivery teen parenting programs; and offering counseling services for any parent experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, postpartum depression, grief over the loss of a pregnancy and/or difficulty in adjustment to parenthood.

Description

St. Mary's Services has been in existence for over 130 years. Started by the Sisters of St. Mary, it began as an orphanage, went to foster care, and finally went into permanent adoption. We now offer many more services, as we are a child welfare agency. Counseling for adoption, unplanned pregnancies, perinatal mood disorders, grief and loss over pregnancies, adjustment to motherhood and a baby closet are some of the highlights of our agency. We offer a comprehensive teen parenting program for high schools and serve District 214 in this capacity. We recently moved into our permanent home in Palatine to serve our clients. Our vision has always been that every child deserves a good home, either through adoption, education, counseling, or empowering the lives of women, which in turn, makes a child's life more enriched.
