Volunteer Stipend for

Peer Support Services

The ADTRC Department is looking for Interns to be Peer Support Specialists

To sign up for the program:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must acquire a physical or developmental disability before the age of 21 years (please contact program/volunteer coordinator for further clarification if needed)
  • Must have at least a high school diploma and a developed resume
  • Demonstrating peer support or mentorship experience
  • Having personal experience relevant to services provided
  • Being able to travel, sometimes daily, in local area
  • Possession of a license and vehicle or accessible transportation (e.g. Mass transit system)
  • Bi-lingual is a plus (not required)
  • Potential Candidates must be registered with a Vocational, Transitional or Institutional Disability Department.
  • Must demonstrate respect to the individual’s culture, beliefs and preferences, even if that individual makes choices they might not make.
  • There will be a monetary Stipend & Paid Training.
  • Training will be M-F, 8-12PM $100/per week 5 weeks
  • Training days and times are subject to change.
