About:
Visitors to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and Barber Motorsports Park come from locations as far and wide as the museum’s collections, and their interests are as plentiful as the plants in the park. Keeping that in mind, the museum and park offer something different for everyone - whether your interests lie in engineering, vintage motors, world history, art, motorsports, or the outdoors.
We are currently looking for volunteers interested in leading or supporting garden tours during our spring and summer months.
During these informative tours, visitors learn interesting facts about the park’s plants and its beautiful landscaping. Clubs also learn about the 2.38-mile road course, the various buildings in the park, and the artwork located throughout the park. Club members are provided opportunities to sightsee from some very special vantage points, weather-permitting.
With training, you can learn to provide excellent service to our visitors and staff during tours.
DETAILS:
Garden Tour volunteers play a critical role by assisting visitors and helping to ensure Garden Tours run smoothly both in the Museum and in the Park.
We are seeking Garden Tour volunteers ages 30+ who are friendly, outgoing, and comfortable assisting Barber Motorsports Museum Guests. Responsibilities include:
- Welcome and greet visitors
- Lead Garden Tours
- Support tour leaders during tours, monitor participants
TIME COMMITMENT:
We recommend volunteers be available for 2 to 3-hour time slots at least three times a month. We are seeking volunteers available Monday through Saturday 10 am to 3 pm since Garden Tours are scheduled in advance according to groups’ availability and meeting times
