At Sunnyside, we value volunteers who have the ability to give time each week to assist our members in the moments that bring them to the hospital. If you can make a weekly commitment and have a heart of care and compassion, we will provide you meaningful volunteers opportunities.

By applying you should understand you are seeking to volunteer in a hospital where patients are being treated for COVID. We do not place volunteers in COVID patient areas of the hospital, but you will be in various other areas. If you are uncomfortable with this or if your family is uncomfortable, please consider applying later in the year when we will have more information regarding COVID and more people will have an opportunity to receive a vaccine.

We currently have openings for individuals who can volunteer during daytime hours Monday through Friday. Positions include the lobby, helping discharged patients be wheeled out from the unit to the front entry, and surgical recovery areas. Due to COVID19 our areas for volunteering have been reduced to provide the highest level of safety possible for everyone. Areas of service are a good question to ask during your interview.
