ORGANIZATION: Mental Health America of Georgia

MHA of Georgia is looking for a Policy and Research/ Public Policy and Research Coordinator to promote the organization, its mission, and programs, through advocacy. Some of the specific duties on which the successful candidate will work include:

  • Research, analysis and tracking of state and local policy
  • Data collection, preparation and analysis
  • Creation of Legislative updates
  • Organize grassroots lobbying efforts; coalitions; and other actions by supporters, partners, and allies
  • Developing policy briefs, reports, and other tools to educate staff, policymakers, grassroots members and the public on relevant issues


MHA of Georgia advocacy efforts include supporting government funding for mental health and co-occurring substance use programs and supports throughout Georgia. We build solutions to increase access to health care inclusive of mental health. We promote whole health and mental wellness all while combatting discrimination and the stigma associated with mental illness.

The Policy & Research Associate will work under the Public Policy Director to inform programming strategy and deepen our political analysis on workforce; school based mental health, mental health parity and the decriminalization of mental health (as well as other topics as needed). The ideal candidate will produce high-quality research and policy analysis to reframe policy debates, engage directly affected communities, and help move our legislative agenda forward.
