Big Brothers Big Sisters of Union County has several volunteer opportunities that fit a variety of schedules. Our two main programs are community-based and school-based mentoring.
Community-based mentors meet 1:1 with a child twice a month. Community-based volunteers meet with their Littles at least two time a month to do simple activities together such as visiting the library, getting a bite to eat or going to park. Community-based mentors must be at least 21 years old and have reliable transportation. Community-based mentors volunteer for approx 3-4 hour each month.
School-based mentors (starting in Sept 2018 - May 2019) meet with a child grades 1-4,at school for lunch. Lunches can start anywhere from 10:50 am to 1:00 pm and last approx 30 min. School-based mentors volunteer approx 2-3 hr each month.

Big Brothers Big Sisters supports children ages 5 to 14 who are facing adversity in their lives and works to increase confidence, self-esteem and help children make positive choices through 1:1 support, friendship and fun activities. We offer multiple types of mentoring opportunities that fit every schedule.
