Project HEAL is seeking a savvy wordsmith to join our blog team. Candidates must have a knack and love for writing, a passion for Project HEAL’s mission, and a comprehensive understanding of eating disorders. The blog manager will be expected to work alongside the current manager to sustain and develop Project HEAL's voice across all blog content.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Editing, Approving, and Publishing Content
    • All guest blogs submitted must be reviewed, edited, approved (or sent back to the writer for rewrites), scheduled, and published. The editor ensures content is published to the blog in strict adherence to the calendar and Project HEAL blog guidelines
  • Maximizing site traffic by utilizing Search Engine Optimization keywords
  • Strategizing with the Marketing Team
    • The blog editor will work closely with the marketing team to set and understand the goals for the blog, create the blog style guide, determine types of writers they want to contribute content
  • Send scheduled blogs for the week to Project HEAL's Marketing Team and Chapter's to share on Project HEAL social media platforms

Qualifications:

  • A passion for Project HEAL’s mission and strong working knowledge of Squarespace
  • Must be able to commit to 5-10 hours per week
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work remotely
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to internal and external senior executives, HEAL PR and Marketing team members, HEAL Chapter team members and vendors
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of various types of content.
  • An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimize/scale blog marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
  • 2-3 years of marketing and content creation experience (preferred but not necessarily required)
  • Knowledge of eating disorders (preferred but not necessarily required)

Mission Statement

Project HEAL is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that provides access to healing for all people with eating disorders.

Description

Since its founding in 2008, Project HEAL has provided over 100 applicants with access to live-saving treatment for their eating disorder, established over 30 Chapters and 25 Ambassadors bringing Project HEAL's mission and values to communities across the United States, and developed partnerships with more than 30 recognized eating disorder treatment providers across the US. The primary function of Chapters is to serve as robust local recovery communities that offer resources for those affected by eating disorders and opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.

We are an organization with a large volunteer base and have many volunteer opportunities available year-round. We are always looking for new people who have an interest in and passion for helping others suffering from eating disorders, poor body image, and low self-esteem.
