Office Support: Foster Grandparent Program
A volunteer is needed to help organize and maintain the Program Office filing and storage system. Volunteer and site files need to be updated and reviewed regularly for necessary paperwork. Computer skills are nice, but not required.
Special projects, as needed may also be a part of the volunteer activities.
Volunteer needs to be well organized and flexible.
Office Support: RSVP
The purpose of this position is to facilitate the operations of the RSVP Office by performing routine clerical tasks as assigned and maintaining the Regular Timesheet files; allowing staff to devote more of their time toward expanding the RSVP program, providing community outreach and interacting with RSVP Membership.
Volunteers process incoming mail; organize timesheets for data entry; data enter timesheet information into RSVP database. Volunteers file hardcopy information such as processed enrollment forms, timesheets, and agency information into hardcopy filing system and update files on a scheduled basis or as needed. Volunteers also complete Special Projects assigned by the RSVP Project Coordinator (RSVP Director).
This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Volunteer may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications/Skills Needed: Good organizational skills, filing, attention to detail and accuracy when performing filing tasks. Some familiarity with Windows computer applications is helpful..
Time Commitment Needed: 3 hours once a week.

Job Location: Mills-Peninsula Senior Focus
Receptionist and greeter for visitors and clients. Answer phones, prepare mailings and packets for Senior Focus programs, and general clerical support.
Orientations and background checks provided by Mills-Peninsula Medical Center Auxiliary; required by all Senior Focus volunteers.
Office Support - Wise & Well and DEEP
MPHS Senior Focus Wise and Well Program offers blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol screenings for older adults (age 60+). The Wise & Well Program is community based and offered at sever senior centers throughout San Mateo County.
Senior Focus offers two health promotion programs, Wise and Well, & DEEP, for older adults in San Mateo County with a goal of optimizing independent living.
Volunteer Job Supervisor: Janel Jurosky, RN
Description:
o Prepare outreach materials/packets for Wise and Well, DEEP and community health fairs. Prepare mailings, photocopying, filing, data entry and general support.
Attributes: Flexible, empathetic, patient, organized, people-oriented, second language or medical experience is a bonus.
Training for the positions will be provided.
Orientation and background checks provided by Mills-Peninsula Medical Center Auxiliary. Required for volunteers.

RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
